At 8:15 on Thanksgiving morning, Bryn Athyn Fire Company and Ambulance, with Huntingdon Valley Fire Company, were dispatched to the 900 block of Cathedral Road in Bryn Athyn, for a vehicle accident with entrapment. Responding units found a pickup truck that had impacted a retaining wall in a private driveway and landed on the driver’s side. The operator was injured and unable to exit the vehicle. Members from Bryn Athyn and Huntingdon Valley stabilized the vehicle, removed the roof with hydraulic tools, and extricated the operator, who was transported to a local hospital by Medic 355. Units returned to service in about 45 minutes. The successful outcome is a result of consistent training and cooperation between responding agencies. Good work by all!
